Snowing

Times Square Ball Drop attracts a million people every year. It has been held more than one century, and has become a big event of NYC. The last day of 2005, everyone came from all over the world, and went to Times Square to welcome the whole new year - 2006. However, Ball Drop's charm not only lures human beings but also Nature. Sonw arrives at New York City this afternoon rapidly and suddenly. I believe she doesn't want to miss the one of the great events in the world.

Dream Comes True

Carol, back and right, my former classmate at Queens College, and her husband, Allen, back and left just opened their small drink shop - OHANA - this month. OHANA in Hawaiian means family; interestingly this word also has the same pronunciation in Japanese, which means flower. It is very difficult to open a shop, especially in America, I think. When I went to visit them, they did not have some many customers. However, it just began. From Allen's face, I can tell that he enjoys working with their small shop because this is his dream. I hope you all can make your dreams come true someday because this is the most joyful event in the lives.

In addition, there is someone I really appreciate; without this person, I cannot image how I could work this out. This person is Wakko. Thank you very much. Thanks for your support, for your patience, and for everything you have done for me.

First snow

In the early morning of December 4, while I was sleeping, snow arrived at NYC quietly. When I woke up in the morning, I was so shocked because I didn't expect the snow. Snow's coming also indicates winter comes. Meanwhile, I heard from Kenny that Taiwan was also very cold and some people even went to some higher monutains to wait for snow. In Taiwan, obviously, snow is very precious, but in New York City, where I'm living, snow is something I'll have every winter. I even don't feel that I like snow so much, probably I have too much.

Very Good = Very Cold

Today's weather was very good, and was good to go around as well. Therefore, Wakko and I went to Queens Center. Unexpectedly, there were lots of people, maybe because of the holiday. If I don't tell you, you will never know how cold it was today. Let me show you the temperature status.
Yes! 0 degree centigrade! In the weather like I had today, the sun is just a decoration.

Centennial Anniversary of Pace University

I feel I am very lucky because I witnessed the centennial anniversary of Times Square, and now I'm gonna vitness the centennial anniversary of Pace University. I don't know when I will encounter the next centennial anniversary event. Do you have any experience similiar to mine? Share it with me~~

Kissena Park

Let me introduce Kissena Park, where one minute far by feet from my home, to you. This is a New York City park, as you may recall, some of the photos on my site are Kissena Park. I wonder whether you can distinguish or not. I went to take some pictures when the weather was fine. There are more pictures available on the photo site. Take a look now ~

Pace University

I always feel troublesome to take my camera to school because I feel so ~~ However, I suppose you want to see how my school is, I hope so. Since I had something needed to do before class, I took my camera to school and shot this picture for you. My school - Pace University! There are more photographs on my photo web site, please take a look when you have time.

Brooklyn Bridge

I waited almost one hour for taking this picture. Last time when I took this view, I didn't have my tripod. Thus, the picture was not so nice. Today I brought my tripod for taking the night scenery. When I was taking the pictures, a security guard prevented me from using the tripod. I don't know why the tripod is banned. When I tried to shoot a picture of Lincoln Center, I got the same message as well. Maybe they thought my camera was a weapon! Anyway, I took this picture with my tripod when the guard was absent. ^_^Y

Installation Art - LOVE

I ran into this installation last spring. At that time, I didn't have my camera with me, so I couldn't take a picutre. When I planed my weekend schedule, I included it on the list. This picture is really good because no one standing in front of it, but the only fly in the ointment was the litter!

Grand Central Terminal

The busiest terminal in NYC. GCT is like a shopping mall. The wings have restaurants; the lower level has food court, and many stores are around the terminal. The first railroad was founded in 1831, which means this terminal is 175 years old.

Juilliard School

Needless to say, Juilliard School is a famous school in Fine Art. Fine Art! Oh! please don't ask me anything about art. I have no notion of it; I have no talent of it. All I know is that this school is very good in art.

Madison Square Garden

Although New York Knicks have Lerry Brown to be their coach in this season, I can't see any chance for them to go to the final. I was planing to see one game in Madison Square Garden. Nevertheless, the ticket price was too high for me to reach it. I hope they can do well, so I can be proud of them. By the way, I was really sad when Yankees failed to go to the final because Chien-Ming Wang lost his chance to show up in the final. It hardly to believe the most expensive team among the MLB couldn't win the title.

The library of Colombia University

Colombia University is top 10 school in the U.S., and its tuition is also in the top 10, I believe. For real, the architectural style of the bulidings in the university is special. Compare to my university, this is much much better than my building campus. Campus with only buildings is the great disappointment for me, for I like to walk around the campus, not taking the elevators. Of course, other campuses of my school have lawns and beautiful buildings as well. Since I chose to live in the city, I don't have anything to complain. I can see Brooklyn Bridge whenever I go to school, and I think it's good because many of you desire to see it, don't you?

The library of St. John's University

As you can see, St. John's University is a Catholic university. Since I did't have a storm card, studend ID, I was unable to visit the library. However, there are something more interesting than this library. You might check out my photo album website to figure out what I said. You will absolutely be shocked!

The Dormitory of St.John's University

When I visited St. John's University, I felt as if I were in the University of Idaho. This dorm is very like LLC, the dorm of U of I. Even though U of I has nothing except the grassland, I still cherish the memory of living there.

After Midterm

Upset is the word that express my feeling of the midterm. When I handed in my exam book, I thought the exam finished me; not I finished it. Everything I studied, I answered; everything I didn't study, I answered as well, but I didn't know what I was writing. I was really down and disappointed with myself while I was on the way to home. Nevertheless, this evening, when I talked to my classmates, most fellows didn't answer those three questions well. Suddenly I felt a little bit better. However, their answers are better than mine, I think. Whenever I submit my homework, I always expect my the grades appear soon, but I don't want my midterm grade show up on the grade page because I don't think I will get A.

Before Midterm

This September I achieved one of my dreams - American academic life. Tomorrow is my first midterm in American. If I say I am not nervous, I am a liar. However, I have been preparing for it. I believe I can do well on tomorrow's exam. The temperature has been dropping gradually. Leaves also have been changing their colors quitely. Last Saturday when I went shoppoing, I suddenly realized winter is coming. Time flies! It has been one and half month since I came back. I have been plannig to do something, but there is always something out of my order. I believe someday I will succeed!

Tea Time

I'd been working on my assignments for two days before I have time to take afternoon tea. For a person like me, I think nothing is better than having a leisurely break.

Home-made noodles

When I finished cooking, I suddenly felt this noodles was just like the one I could buy in a noodles restaurant. I start wondering I'm a student or a cook. How do you feel about this noodles, give me some comments!

It is a biggest lunch box I've ever seen. Unlike Taiwanese one, there is a lot of meat on the rice. I even could not finish it. I suppose that is because of Americans. For them maybe it's just an OK lunch box, but for me it's awesome!

Mid-Autumn Festival

Made in U.S.A.

Shopping fun ~

Shopping was really fun, especially when I spent the money which is not mine. I was really like a tourist; I was carrying all the bags and walking around in Manhatten. Even though I was exhausted, I was really happy. Thank you for all of you, Gina, Lucy, Ivy, Carile and Yin.

Godiva - The dream of the chocolate

Regret at the fireworks

I met Jane, my friend, in the subway station when I was on the way to home. Same as me, she went to watch the fireworks, but she chose a wrong place where she couldn't see well. She regretted that she didn't go with me. However, she also told me something making me feel regretful. I didn't know that there was music playing for the fireworks in the radio. Next year, I won't forget to take my MP3 player.

Independence Day

The first shot of the fireworks in NYC.

Long Island University

When I arrived there, I could hardly believe how beautiful the school is. Indeed, this is one of the most beautiful school in America. However, I think I won't consider this school as my graduate school because there is only one bus to there. I don't want to spend too much time waiting for the bus.

Queens College

This was the last day in Queens College. Time flies! Three and a half months are gone; now, I am looking for my new goal. Probably, waiting for the admissions is the most important thing I am expecting.

Queens College 2005 Spring Semester ELI 6A

As usual, the end of the semester would have a small party that everyone brought his or her dishes to school and share with calssmates. Anyway, congratulations, my classmates who passed the final exam, of course, included myself.
