macy's

The world largest store - macy's. It is so large that you have to spend at least three hours to walk around the department store. When it is on sale, you had better go there asap; otherwise, even if you see something you like, it might not have your size. I had the exact experience. I went there during the holiday season which was Christmas, and I saw a jacket I liked. However, there was no size for me. What a pity! When macy's is on sale, it seems every one is a rich man!!

Installation Art

Installation art can be seen around our living environments. New York City has many special installations which have become famous places for sightseeing. At the convenience of my friend's coming, I collected all of them.

Burger King - King Kong Size

By the King Kong fever, Burger King provides a new meal option - King Kong Size Whopper, also called triple whopper. It was really King Kong size because I couldn't finish it by myself. Unfortunately, Burger King dose not offer this meal in Taiwan. If you want to try it, come here!

Empire State Building

Empire State Building lights up with different colors in different festivals. In the bottom and right picture, the green/red/red colors represent Christmas season. The other one which is blue/white/blue means Hanukkah. There are total 66 colors of Empire State Building. I hope I can collect all of them in this year!

Disney Store

Disney cartoons are guaranteed to be good. I believe everyone of you has watched at least one of the Disney cartoons. Mickey mouse, of course, is the symbol of Disney products. However, I prefer Nemo than Mickey.

Rockefeller Center

The Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center always appears in everyone's camera. The skating rink has more people than usual. Unfortunately, I cannot skate; otherwise, I really want to skate on this rink; especially during the night, it was more beautiful, and the snow-like lights were turned on every other ten minutes. When the lights were on, the music also went off. If you have a chance, you must experience it because this is not something you can feel from the words.

Views of Fifth Avenue

The most expensive avenue in the world. In this avenue, you can find every well-known brand store. However, how many can you buy? Whenever I go to there, I always see people buying a lot of stuff. I hope someday I can be like one of them.

The New York Public Library

Have you watched the movie "The Day After Tomorrow"? Do you remember the survivors used the library as their shelter? There are so many movies made in NYC. This movie is just one in many of them.

Home-made Christmas Dinner

BoBo, my friend, came from Taiwan to celebrate the holidays. As her demand, I baked a chicken and cooked vegetables as well. While I was taking care of the chicken, Wakko made the delicious asparagus rolls and the fruit salads. Since we had a guest, I used only milk to cook the soup, which I had never made before. More importantly, it was we were so full, and were unable to finish the chicken.

Snowing

Times Square Ball Drop attracts a million people every year. It has been held more than one century, and has become a big event of NYC. The last day of 2005, everyone came from all over the world, and went to Times Square to welcome the whole new year - 2006. However, Ball Drop's charm not only lures human beings but also Nature. Sonw arrives at New York City this afternoon rapidly and suddenly. I believe she doesn't want to miss the one of the great events in the world.

Dream Comes True

Carol, back and right, my former classmate at Queens College, and her husband, Allen, back and left just opened their small drink shop - OHANA - this month. OHANA in Hawaiian means family; interestingly this word also has the same pronunciation in Japanese, which means flower. It is very difficult to open a shop, especially in America, I think. When I went to visit them, they did not have some many customers. However, it just began. From Allen's face, I can tell that he enjoys working with their small shop because this is his dream. I hope you all can make your dreams come true someday because this is the most joyful event in the lives.

First snow

In the early morning of December 4, while I was sleeping, snow arrived at NYC quietly. When I woke up in the morning, I was so shocked because I didn't expect the snow. Snow's coming also indicates winter comes. Meanwhile, I heard from Kenny that Taiwan was also very cold and some people even went to some higher monutains to wait for snow. In Taiwan, obviously, snow is very precious, but in New York City, where I'm living, snow is something I'll have every winter. I even don't feel that I like snow so much, probably I have too much.

Very Good = Very Cold

Today's weather was very good, and was good to go around as well. Therefore, Wakko and I went to Queens Center. Unexpectedly, there were lots of people, maybe because of the holiday. If I don't tell you, you will never know how cold it was today. Let me show you the temperature status.
Yes! 0 degree centigrade! In the weather like I had today, the sun is just a decoration.
